Los Disparates de Goya: Children's Interactive Exhibit

About the Project:

The exhibit "Los Disparates de Goya" in the Metropolitan Cultural Centre in Quito, Ecuador, was a display of relevant sketches of the Spanish painter Francisco de Goya. The exhibit included a children's installation of different interactive activities to teach children about the life and art of the painter.

Installation & Activities

The project consisted of 3 activities for the attending children:

  • A series of puzzles of different paintings

  • A digital booklet with a quick summary of Goya’s biography

  • A printed activities flyer for children to bring home

The Challenge:

The biggest challenge in this project was to create a visual representation of Francisco de Goya that could appeal to younger audiences. It was very important as well, to include the most relevant events that inspired his artistic creations during his lifetime. Themes such as poverty, war and the painter’s own health problems were addressed and included as important facts about his life and work.

I created all the visuals and programming using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash. This project was developed for the Centro Cultural Metropolitano de Quito with the ecuadorian multimedia agency Pentaedro Digital Zone.
