Arcade 1UP

Tastemakers, LLC is the manufacturer and distributor of novelty toys and collectibles. In 2018 company launched the Arcade 1UP, a more affordable and smaller arcade machine that could bring gaming fans the same experience as a regular sized arcade cabinet. The product made its debut on the market with classic gaming titles such as Pac-Man, Galaga, Street Fighter II, Rampage, Centipede and Asteroids.

About the Project:

As the lead trade designer for the Arcade1UP, I created a series of different visual campaigns for each of the gaming titles that were launched in their first year.  For each campaign, it was crucial to evoke that sense of nostalgia that would attract classic gaming fans from all over the world and show the unique features of the arcade such as its convenient smaller size and other accessories.

After a few months of campaigning on digital platforms, the Arcade1UP quickly gained great popularity with over 8 million impressions on their social media channels and over 10 million impressions from media coverage in the New York Times, Toronto Star, Forbes, among others.

This success allowed the marketing team to expand the brand and create a whole line of Arcade1UP apparel merch. For this project, I created a series of different merch applications of the Arcade1UP brand and some of their gaming titles at the time which included t-shirts, beanies and tote bags.
