Excell Marketing
Excell Brands is a recognized distributor of novelty toys, collectibles and trading cards in North America. Working through its 3 different divisions BullsiToy, Excel Marketing and Radz, it produces a great number of licensed brand products for children and collectors alike. Some of these licensors include: Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, LOL Surprise, Magic, and many others.
About the Project
Working with Excell Brands gave me the opportunity to work with each one of its 3 divisions not only as a trade designer but also as a content creator for their social media monthly calendars.
Most of their trade design work required the creation of printed fact sheets for their different licensed toy collections:
Bulls I Toy and Excell Marketing Social Media Content
The Bulls I Toys division on the other hand, required photography to create engaging and fun social media content using samples of their toys and collectibles. Bulls I Toys works with a number of different licensors which allowed me to explore my abilities for brands Like Jurassic World, Marvel, LOL Surprise, Harry Potter, among others.
One of the client’s expectations for these social media assets was to showcase their products in lifestyle settings keeping in mind creative versatility and collectability. With these requirements in mind, I was in charge of organizing different studio set ups using backdrops, props and models and shooting creative photography for these brands:
To make the content more dynamic, I additionally created short animations and photographed stop motion sequences to showcase specific features of the products:
Designing Grids
Another interesting request from this client was to design their monthly calendar posts to make them more visually aesthetic as a whole. This gave me the chance to create visually consecutive posts by the end of each month:
As of December 2020, Excell Marketing saw great increases in their social media pages with over 1.2 million monthly impressions. Their Bulls I Toy instagram channel saw a net audience growth of 176% and a 185% increase on Twitter.
